- Perhaps this GUSUKU is the one which made me so much in GUSUKU mystery.
This GUSUKU has no significant stone structure except the arch which was
built by curving a natural stone. When I first saw this GUSUKU, I thought
it was a small GUSUKU. I only found out why there are few stones left after
I read the explanation board. The massive amount of stones were taken by
the Army after the war (probably during the war as well) as their building
materials. In other words, there are only leftovers. It was rather a hasteful
idea, however, I came to think that I had to record the situation? somehow.
It won't be in an academic way, but more for self-satisfaction. This record
here is such an example.ん。
- Gushikawa GUSUKU
Gushikawa GUSUKU
- Kanekuhara, Gushikawahara Kyan, Itoman-shi
- 18 minutes from the last stop of Kyan-Line, Ryukyu Bus
- Historical Site - National
- This GUSUKU is located at the East cape of Kyan Cape Whenever I saw
this GUSUKU, I said to myself, "Why did they build this in such a
place?" In front of it, there is the ocean and when I visited, a strong
wind was blowing the GUSUKU. I found a new cment tombstone in this visit.
It seemed to belong to people related to the GUSUKU, however it was built
without permission. Around the tombsone, there are many signs to say "Do
not build any tombstone and remove ones built without permission".
I've seen such singes at many other places, does this mean they build a
tombstone without permission? They were found in slopes of hills and made
me wonder to whom the site belonged to. Were they really built without
permission? Can anybody tell me?
