TSUKISHIMA Shizuku is a real bookworm. She always find the name 'AMASAWA Seiji' on the call cards of the books which she borrow from the library. The name is on her mind.
One day in the summer holiday, she has promised to meet Yuko who wanted to talk something with her at their school. She would like to borrow some books from the school library then.
She asked Ms. Kosaka to open the library. She finds the stamp 'Amasawa Collection' with the presentation stamp on the inside cover of the book which she borrows.
Shizuku shows Yuko the unfinished translated words of 'Country Road'. The parody song 'Concrete Road' finds favor with Yuko.
"Shizuku, do you love anybody now?"
Yuko's talk is about the trouble of love. She received a love letter and are worrying about her answer to it.

TSUKISHIMA SHIZUKU .......... HONNA Youko
A third grader of Mukouhara Junior High School. Although her words and deeds are boyish, she is an extensive reader and her bent is for thinking. She faintly fall in love with the name 'AMASAWA SEIJI' which she found in call cards of the library.One day she followed a fat cat Moon and encountered AMASAWA Seiji at last. She is 14 years old.
AMASAWA SEIJI .......... TAKAHASHI Kazuo
A third grader of Mukouhara Junior High School. He has decided to go to Italy and become a violin craftsman after his graduation of the junior high school. She feels that he is more grown-up than her. He is a frank boy but strict with himself. His appearance creates a sensation on her heart. He is 15 years old.
TSUKISHIMA YASUYA .......... TACHIBANA Takashi
He is the Shizuku's father who is a librarian of the public library. His principal occupation is a local historian. He write something with a word-processor at home. He declared to let his children go and doesn't say things to them. He is 45 years old.
TSUKISHIMA ASAKO .......... MUROI Shigeru
She began to study for herself again after her children grew up. She is Shizuku's energetic mother who attend to a university for the doctor degree. She is struggling hard to cope with housework and study now. She is 43 years old.
BARON .......... TSUYUGUCHI Shigeru
A cat doll which is the treasure of NISHI Shiro, the master of Chikyu-ya. His real name is Baron Funbelt von Sickingen. He is the model of the leading role in the story 'Mimi-o Sumaseba' which Shizuku writes after she is provoked by Seiji.
NISHI SHIROU .......... KOBAYASHI Keiju
The Seiji's grandfather on his mother's side. He has a studio on the Suginomiya Hill and runs Chikyuya where he sells and repaires classic furniture. He enjoy playing modern jazz with his friends. He is 80 years old.
TSUKISHIMA SHIHO .......... YAMASHITA Yorie
Shizuku's elder sister who attends to the university. She becomes a general responsible person during her summer holiday of the university. She is good at everything and a beauty in addition. Shizuku feel shy of her because she orders Shizuku about. She is 19 years old.
HARADA YUKO .......... KAYAMA Maiko
A Shizuku's classmate who understands her well. She is an ordinary girl who is sensitive to examinations and love. She loves Sugimura of the same class. She is too shy to confess her love to him. She is 14 years old.
SUGIMURA .......... NAKAJIMA Yoshimi(Yoshizane?)
Shizuku's classmate. He is a sportsboy who belongs to the baseball club. He is insensitive as much as he doesn't know that Yuko loves him. He loves Shizuku. He is 14 years old.
